Every home needs maintenance not just old ones. However antiques have common maintenance issues- wooden gutter cleaning and restoration, glass repair and window glazing, insulation and weatherproofing proper fittings of doors and windows, drainage issues, chimney re-pointing, roof preservation, exterior painting, etc...
Outbuilding repairs are regularly needed. Track doors can need adjusting- sills need repair at door openings- additional structural support can be added under the floors. Repairs in outbuildings can be as stringent as the homeowner deems. Wood of similar age, appearances and color can be used or modern pressure treated wood can be substituted. We help the client fully understand the materials, approach and associated costs.
